Special Birthday Wishes

On Friday my sister celebrates her 40th Birthday - this is a remarkable  achievement for someone who on more than one occasion has been so very ill she was not expected to survive the next few hours!!  The love and care she has been given by my Mum is the key to her survival and we are planning a party with family and friends on Friday - the same day as the Olympics open in London!!  I guess there are not many people  (my Auntie - same day) who have had a "countdown" to their birthday!!

So on to my card - it has to be a "special one", so I decided to have a go at a stair stepper card - they are so easy and look very effective, I plan to make more cards like this one!!

I have used Poppy Parade, Whisper White & Not Quite Navy for my theme and spent many hours making paper roses for the bunting, these are left over so I have used them for the card.

Arty angle, so you can see the depth of the card, I will make a quick box tonight for the card, so the flowers are not crushed.

A close up of the flowers, You can just see the glitter inside the Night of Navy flower, the patterned paper is from the gorgeous Everyday Enchantment pack - available again during July. The sentiment is from the Perfect Punches stamp set.

I made a box with the exclusive Stampin' Up! Milk Carton die, adding some pearls and crochet trim with another paper flower.  I bought a charm for her bracelet and it will fit nicely in here.

I know I'm going to be busy decorating the garden, so I  am posting my card today - I can hope the sun will come back out!! I have a couple of Birthday banners I have made as well - hopefully I can take some decent pictures once they are hung up??

Greenhouse Garden Class

Ooops!!  I forgot to post the photos from a class I did back in June!

I designed this pretty summer class around the Top Note die that I embossed using the Square Lattice embossing folder - it looked like a basket.

The colours are Peach Parfait, Blushing Bride from the "In Colours" collection and Crumb Cake.

There was quite a bit of cutting out of the flowers adding some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the centre of the flowers.  The background of the card was stamped with the En Francais stamp in Blushing Bride then a flower detail was stamped in Peach Parfait over the top.

This was a quick make to show the ladies how quickly you can make a card with some Sunny Garden  paper and a seniment from the Occasional Greetings stamp set, with a scrap of ribbon.  The Mini Milk carton die was used to make the little box, it was stamped over then a single flower was cut out and added to the front of the box, the small paper clip is from the Clips Assortment with a bit of ribbon tied through the top of it.

It was a lovely morning Liz and Morag had baked the most delicious cakes for our coffer break too!!

Rich Razzleberry Birthday Gift

This is the super quick card and gift box I made for a friend at the weekend using the FREE gifts available from Stampin' Up! during Augst.

I used the lovely Rich Razzleberry striped grosgrain ribbon as my starting point for this design. The base is Rich Razzleberry adding Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla layers, the beautifully detailed butterfly is from the Strength and Hope stamp set, stamped with Rich Razzleberry ink. I tied a loose knot in the ribbon and fixed it to the back of the Crumb Cake layer with double sided tape, then stamped "Hope" and layered it up with various circle punches and the scalloped circle, using a Mini Clip to fasten it to the ribbon.

I have decorated the inside of the card something I think I will try and do more often, using the scallop trim boarder punch and the swirly  branch from the Strength and Hope stamp set.

I used the exclusive sizzix Mini Milk Carton die to make this cute little gift box. I used the same butterfly from the Strength and Hope stamp set with Rich razzleberry ink, a length of pearls and a scrap of ribon thied to the Mini Clip keeping the box closed.

If you would like to get your Free Gift you can find all of the details here.

I still have a few places available at my Strength and Hope Charity workshop if you would like to join me for a creative afternoon with homebaked cakes and refreshments (details can be forund here) Stampin' Up! will donate £1.00 from every Strength and Hope stamp set sold and you will get your own stamp set in your goody bag, all profits from my event will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
