Summer Workshop

I have only just realised this post hadn't published I guess Blogger has been up to no good again?

Yesterday afternoon I had a lovely group of ladies attend my workshop and I think given the stormy weather it was the best place to be!!

Everyone got their own Blossom punch to take home after the workshop along with a kit containing everything needed for the projects.

I usually make a few cards to share at my workshop for inspiration, as I have a a group of  very creative ladies who will share some fabulous designs of their own during the workshop.

I chose the exclusive Petal Cone die for my 3D projects, using it in different ways so the ladies could see what a great addition to their craft room this would be.

I demonstrated the ruffled flowers made with the Blossom punch and the Petal Cone die was altered to make a vase.

A petal cone box to hang, with another blossom flower.

Petal cone die altered to make a "take out" style box.

The colours for the workshop were Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, Lucky Limeade and Whisper White - many of the ladies commented on the colours and how much they liked them. I used the matching Bright Blossoms stamp set with the punch (now on many "wish lists"!) along with the lovely Curly Cute stamp set.

If you are local to me and would like to join one of my workshops please contact me to book your place. I will be adding dates for my Autumn / Winter workshops later this week and places do fill up quickly.

I'm sorry to be missing again, life just doesn't slow down, hopefully school finishes next week & I will have a bit more free time??  I am busy making things to sell at a craft fair on Sunday at Marton Country Club, it was a last minute decision to attend, so rather hectic but I will share some of the things soon.

Celebration Workshop

On Saturday I had 2 sessions for my Celebration Workshop at a lovely new venue.
There are a lot of pictures for this one, so you might need a cuppa to keep you going!!

One of the main projects we made was this lovely mini album, made to look like a handbag.  This is not my own idea, Laura at Airing Cupboard Stamping made this one and has a lovely tutorial on her blog - you can find the details here.

The bag opens up to reveal two mini books that you can fill with photos and journalling.

In the kit everyone had a pack of the gorgeous crowns to add to their creations, along with half a pack of the Tickets & Tags Simply Scrappin' kit and some extra card and embellishments.

This is one of my books ready to be decorated.

The seam binding ribbon keeps the books in place when the bag is closed.

This is my second version of the bag, made into a card. I know some of the ladies are not really interested in scrapbooking, so I showed them how easy it is to make a secial Birthday card using the same template.

I added some bunting punched from the lovely papers in the kit, and a large flower sticker with a sentiment punched out,  a really quick and easy card to make.

I made a couple of cards with the kit for inspiration and this was one of the popular ones on the afternoon. A "window" was punched in the card with a scalloped frame for the crown to hang from, the crown can be easily taken off to be used.

I used a circle punch to make the bunting for this card, another quick card to make.

These cards are on 2" x 2" perfect for gift tags, made with some of the left over card. A box was made with the scallop square die to put them - another popular idea on Saturday!

I love making these little pouches, they are so quick and easy to do!!  I found some rock sweets with Union Jack's on them - perfect to go with my crowns!!

Everyone enjoyed the day, the new room is lovely and bright and as the sun was shinning we had the windows open, not sure what has happened since as it is so cold and not a glimpse of sunshine all week!!

I am now taking bookings for my next workshop 30th June - "How Does Your Garden Grow?" places are limited already!!!

Springtime Vintage Workshop

Yesterday afternoon I had a lovely workshop making some pretty projects using beautiful Springtime Vintage papers and the Baby Blossom stamp set.

Everyone recieved a "goody bag" of Stampin' Up! products to use for their projects including a 6"x6" frame and complete instructions to take away so they can re-create more projects at home.

I had booked my local community centre for this event and it was perfect!!

This is the room all set up just before everyone arrived, I had made a little mini milk carton box with a few treats inside as a "thank you" for the ladies attending the workshop.  I would also like to thank my friends Liz and Jo for helping me to set up the room, I wouldn't have been ready on time with out them!!

Margaret and Judith busy making their projects.

This is just one of the matching gift bags and cards I made to show the Springtime Vintage papers, I made 6 sets in total so the ladies could select their prefered  design - now all I need to do is find suitable gifts to fill them with for the teachers at school!!

Jo busy getting to grips with gathering her seem binding ribbon.

This is my version of the punched collage the ladies also made.  It was lovely to see everyone being creative and so many different designs put into their collages.  This was certainly a popular choice and everyone enjoyed making the collage.

I had baked a selection of treats to have with a cuppa, the blueberry cake was very popular.

Congratulations to the lucky ladies who won some fabulous Stampin' Up! goodies in my raffle, I hope you enjoy using them!!!

I would like to thank everyone who came making yesterday a successful afternoon. If you would like to join us at the next event it will be held on Saturday 3rd September.  I will post more details later this week.
