Stamp something for Jamie .....
This is my card for a young girl called Jaimie. Please try and make a card for Jaimie and show your support, this young girl has recently been a victim of an exceptoinally violent crime.
Denise Lynn and Erin Bailey are organising a card drive in response to a tragedy that occurred at the beginning of October in a small New Hampshire town. On October 4th, 4 teenagers armed with knives broke into a home where Kimberly Cates and her 11-year-old daughter Jaimie were sleeping. They stabbed Kimberly to death and left Jaimie for dead in their driveway. It was a completely random act, their home was chosen only due to its secluded surroundings. Thankfully, Jaimie has now left hospital and is now back home recovering with her dad.
Here’s a bit about Jaimie from Erin’s friend to help you when you create….
Jaimie is not really a girlie girl, but she does like hot pink and black. She likes outdoor activities such as biking, skateboarding, razor rip stick, snowboarding, and karate. She is a black belt in karate.
You can read more details here at the Stamp Something for Jaimie blog, and find out where to send your card to. There is a blog hop to support Jaimie until 9th November, it starts here, there are some giveaways along the way!!
I have used the sketch from this week's Create 4 Fun, challenge 14, it is a simple sketch by the very talented Bev, again my favourite style of sketch - nice and simple!! There is a set of octagonal nestabilities for one lucky winner!!
I have used my new Nutshells stamp, Mac (part of my prize as I won their first challenge!!), as I thought she wouild fit Jaimie''s style!! Coloured with promarkers, copic spica glitter pens, papers are BG Eva, DCWV c/s, nesties, embossing folder, brads, ribbon, charm, flowers are Imaginisce.
Sorry for such along post, but I cannot begin to imagine what has happened to Jaimie and how this has affected her and her family. Thanks for stopping by,
Angela xx
