Simply Stampin' Challenge 17

It is time for another colour challenge this week at Simply Stampin' Challenge, if you don't have all of the colours used you can use a colour you have that is closest to the listed colours, we would love to visit your blog and see your creations this week.

I thought the colours would be perfect for a summer strawberry.

I used the embosslit heart to make my strawberry and the 5 petal punch for the leaves, the flower is form the boho blossom punch with a little dazzaling diamonds. The card base is Real Red with Whisper White embossed with the square lattice folder, Poppy Parade for the strawberry and Certainly Celery leaves and satin ribbon.

I will add a sentiment to the card once I know who I will send it to?!

Baptism Card

I was asked to make a Baptism card for two little girls who are going to be Baptised together - one is three years old and the other is a baby.
I did have to think about this card for a day or two as the usual baby style stamps I would use were not really suitable on this occassion.
Then inspiration struck in the form of the very versatile All in the Family stamp set!!

I stamped a baby and a little girl in Basic Grey ink and coloured them using the Stampin' Write marker pens adding a ruffle of Pretty in Pink taffetta ribbon and some pearls. The tiny flowers are from the Itty Bitty Bits punch set and I used the Scallop Trim corner punch to add some interest to the design. The sentiment is printed from my computer and layered with Circle punches and the Scalloped Circle punch, a few more pearls and ribbon to match. I used a combination of Pretty inPink, Pirroutte Pink, Crumb Cake and Whisper White.

Its the last day of term!!!!  I do look forward to spending more time together through the summer holidays and hopefully some nice days out too!!  Lucy hasn't got back to school after having Chicken Pox as they are still not completely dried up - but at least it will be in time for our trip to Disneyland Paris next week!!!   Both Lucy and Philip are getting excited now!!

Simply Stampin' Challenge 16

I do hope blogger is kind enough to publish my post on time  - as I will be travelling to Leeds for a training day with my stampin' Up! Mummy Jules and lots of other Jems.

This week at Simply Stampin' we have a lovely sketch to follow - I did try rotating this sketch but as I started to work my card natually followed the origional sketch?!

I chose to use some of the bits of paper on my desk for this card, I have used Basic black for the base along with Basic Grey card which I embossed using the polka dots embossing folder, I used the spiral punch along the edge of my patterned paper.

I put two strips of Basic Black satin ribbon together to make a wider band then simply added some butterflies cut using the Beautiful Butterflies bigz die and the Beautiful Wings embosslit die that cuts and embosses all in one go!!  All that was needed was of course some bling and a sentiment , I used the Level 2  Something to Celebrate stamp set from the mini catalogue.

Both Butterfly dies are exclusive to Stampin' Up! so if you would like to add them to your stash please contact me - I can place an order for you and have it delivered directly to you.

Unfortunately I didn't get to visit all of the people who entered last weeks challenge at Simply Stampin' as Lucy has been quite poorly with chicken pox - I'm hoping she will be well enough to go back to school before the end of term so I can catch up.

Butterfly Class

This morning I held my last class before the summer break. I welcomed  three new ladies to the class - Jill, Kath and Cathy.
I chose an unusual colour scheme for the projects but I love it!!
Rich Razzleberry
River Rock
Very Vanilla

I got out my Flight of the Butterfly stamp set that had not seen ink for quite some time along with the matching punch.

This is a really simple card to create and is a very effective way of showing the differnt colours. I added a few pearls and some gorgeous Rich Razzleberry satin ribbon too.

This card uses the same colours but with more details. The background was stamped with the fabulous En Francais stamp in River Rock and the Top Note die was cut in half and embossed with the Polka Dots embossing folder with more gorgeous satin ribbon and some Tiny Tags.  The butterfly was stamped and punched out with more pearls used to give an illusion of movement.

Another Top Note die box -  this one is embossed with the Elegant Bouquet folder, I coloured the centres of the flowers with a Rich Razzleberry marker and added some Dazzling Diamonds to the top. The butterfly sits perfectly on the flowers and would be perfect for a summer celebration.

I am planning  some new classes for the Autumn with a few changes too - giving you more Stampin' Up! products -  dates and prices will be annonuced soon!!

I still have a few places left for my Strength and Hope Charity craft event, details here. Please contact me asap if you would like to book a place.  I will have kits available by post - so if you cannot get to my event why not contact me to otder your kit with your own Strength and Hope stamp set and full colour instructions to create your own set of beautiful cards.

Friday Night's Class

On Friday last week I had a class with a group of ladies who love to craft!!  It is always lovely to spend time with them and the evening flies by in a flash!!

I designed a project using the gorgeous Woodland Walk papers - the catalogue does not do them justice, they are so beautiful and can be used for so many different occassions.

We made a tri-shutter card and a top-note die box.

The tri-shutter card base was made using Garden Green card and the Woodland walk papers. Flowers are cut using the new Sizzix exclusive Fun Flowers die, some have been embossed with the polka dots embossing folder. The butterflies were cut in a variety of colours to co-ordinate with the Wood land walk papers.

A close up of the embossed butterfiles, cut using another Sizzix exclusive die - Beautiful Wings embosslit. The sentiment is from the Sincere Salutations stamp set punched and layered on to the polka dot frame from the Four Frames stamp set. The frame was punched out and layered up using the matching punch - Stampin' Up! do make so many fabulous co-ordinating products!!

This is the matching gift box we made, using the Sizzix Top Note die.  The top and bottom pieces are cut from Crumb Cake card then embossed using the Square Lattice embossing folder. More Fun Flowers were layered up with a button tied with some linen thread.

This is a lovely box to make, not only is it easy to put together but it is a decent size and could be used for so many different gifts.

My post is a little later than I had planned as Lucy has chicken pox now!!  At least its not all bad - as we go to Disnyland Paris soon, I'm thankful that both of them will have recovered from it before we fly.  Philip didn't get too many spots, so I'm hoping Lucy is lucky too - not too many today!!!??

Simply Stampin' Challenge 15

Its time for a new challenge at Simply Stampin' this week we would like to see "anything but a card".

I have been scrapbooking more of the photos that have just been left laying around this week, so I thought I would share one of the layouts I made this week of Lucy.

It was a beautiful but chilly summer afternoon on the top of Carlton Bank watching the hang gliders taking off, yes the sky really was soo blue that day!!

I chose pink for my layout using shades of Pretty in Pink and Pink Pirouette, with a fabulous accent of Marina Mist.  I tore the edge of the page but as usual I have kept the layout simple.  I mixed some Pretty in Pink re-inker with platinmum shimmer paint to paint the On Board chipboard letters.

We would love to see your creations this week at Simply Stampin' Challenge, pop over to the challenge blog to see the fabulous creations the design team have made this week.

I will hopefully get the projects photographed that the ladies at my class made last night & share them with you over the next few days.

Happy Birthday Jules

Today is my lovely Stampin' Up! "mummy' Jules'  birthday!!!!!
So of course I wanted to make a special card for her but I did find I spent quite sometime pulling out different stamp sets and then putting them back before deciding on Engraved Greetings.

I decided to use a monochrome pink colour scheme, the card base is Melon Mambo layered with Pink Pirouette and some gorgeous Melon Mambo polka dot paper from the Brights paper stack. I  used Melon Mambo ink and added a little sparkly bling and some Pretty in Pink satin ribbon too.

I added a few tiny punched flower on the inside of my card too.

Happy Birthday Jules
have a wonderful day!!!

Simply Stampin' Challenge Week 14

Its time for another new challenge this week at Simply Stampin' we have a fabulous colour challege for your inspiration.

I will admit when I first looked at the colours I had no idea how to use them all together but I love this card!!

I used Night of Navy for my card base and inked up the monsters from the Make a Monster stamp set and coloured them in Peach Parfait and Rich Razzleberry, adding a boarder of faux stitching in Rich Razzleberry.  The sentiment is from Perfect Punches, I used the marker pens to colour the stamp, a bit of crystal effects on the eyes to give them araised finish.

We would love to see your cards again this week, if your needing inspiration for these colour take a look at the fabulous creations from the design team here.
