A Special Card ......

I thought I would share with you one of the cards I was commisioned to make. This card is for a teenage girl for her Confirmation Day, it was my favourite of the cards I made last week, so I will share those another day.

I chose a neutral colour scheme for the card using the beautiful Bella Blue papers from Stampin' Up!, with kraft card to layer it up.  I have punched a decorative boarder using very vanilla card, then I wrapped kraft taffetta ribbon around and added a bow.  I made the fancy beaded pin with the pretties kit and added one of the large pearls for the centre of the flowers, the sentiment was printed out and I used the oval punches to layer it up.

Well my blog is all up to date, and my craft room is tidy, so after I have finished my ironing and maybe hoovered the car, weather permitting, I wil be visiting my favourite blogs!!!!

Vintage Vogue Class .....

This is the set that a group of  lovely ladies made last night using the Vintage Vogue stamp set from the mini catalogue.

I have to say I find it difficult not using any colour, but it was a suggestion from one of my ladies, so I took up the challenge and this is the result.  Everyone managed to complete their set, although there was a lot of cutting out and layering of the flowers, so I have promised to use punches next time!!

I know I have been neglecting my blog lately and I have not had time to get around to visit my favourite blogs, so I would like to thank everyone who has visited me recently and left lovely comments. I have been busy making some special cards that were for an order, (I may post my favourite on here sometime next week) and I have been busy with some new design team makes, I know you are going to love them!!  I am planning on having a quick tidy up of my craft room and then spending some time catching up and seeing your wonderful cards and projects over the next couple of days.

I have fially got around to using my new embossing folder I bought at the show in Harrogate a few weeks ago!! This is only the 2nd time I have coloured this stamp (very naughty!!).  I have used some more of those lovely Sweet Pea designer papers (available only while stocks last!!!) along with Pumpkin Pie card and ribbon from Stampin' Up!  the large pearls are from the Pretties Kit, sentiment is from the Circle of Friends stamp set.  The flowers and buttons are from my stash.

Gone Banana's .........

We not just yet!!!!  I have been busy trying to get ahead with some design team work and orders for some special cards I have been commissioned to make.

I thought I would share this cute monkey card I have made using the Fox and Friends stamp set with the fabulous sweet treat cups from Stampin' Up! I have filled them with some banana sweets, yummy!!!!
The treat cups can be filled with so many different things and make an interesting addition to a card, I have added a tab with a sliding pannel so the sweets can be taken out without tearing the card apart.

Short and sweet today as I still need to get those orders finished!!   Thanks for stopping by,

Birthday Butterflies .....

I thought I would show you one of the favour boxes I have made for an order for the ladies attending a special birthday celebration.  They were to be in the colours of the local football team!!

I have used Real Red card with the jumbo So Swirly wheel, I love this wheel, and it makes the background so quick and easy to do!!   I have stamped one of the butterflies from the Flight of the Butterfly set and used the matching punch, the pearl is from the pretties kit.

All products are available from Stampin' Up!, contact me for further details.

Birthday Girls ......

I have been busy with cards for Philip's friends at nursery agian, as today he is at another Birthday party!!!
It is time for twins Lucy and Emily to celebrate their 4th Birthday, they are such sweet little girls!!

I have made both cards using Pumpkin Pie and Pink Passion card and ink, such vibrant colours, but I think they work so well together!!  I have stamped their names with the Schoolbook Serif Alphabet, and I have used the All in the Family set for the little girls along with the matching accessory set for the balloons and presents. The ballons have been coated with a thin layer of Crystal Effects and covered with the gorgeous Dazzling Diamonds glitter.   I have just added a tab of wide stripped grosgrain ribbon in Pumpkin Pie to finish them off.

I love all the ribbons that Stampin' Up! sell but in particular the wide 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon. It's the perfect ribbon for so many occassions and it's unbelievable soft which makes it fabulous for tying gorgeous puffy bows really easily.  Many of my customers love this ribbon so I've been offering sampler packs in all 4 of the colours - pumpkin pie, old olive, basic black and chocolate chip.

You can buy a mixed pack of these beautiful ribbons from me for just £4.75 including postage and packing.  You will receive 1 meter of each colour in the pack,  e-mail me to buy your ribbon pack before they are all gone!!

This week at Sweet Stampin' the challenge is "Get Personal", so I am entering my cards as they are perfect with the girls names on them!!

Truly Scrumptious Challenge 32 ......

It is time for a new challenge at Truly Scrumptious, this week Sharon has given us a fabulous sketch to use, with the added extra option of making a circular card.  There are some amazing cards from the Design Team, you can see them all here.

This week I have not used the optional extra, as I only had my circular nesties, and I didn't feel that they would make a large enough card, so I have stuck with a square base.

I have used the Medallion background stamp from Stampin' Up! on my card base, using Close to Cocoa and chocolate Chip ink to ink around the card base. Bashful Blue and Close to Cocoa have been used for the circles, the sentiment is from the versatile Circle of Friends stamp set.  I have coloured the image and cut it out, using foam pads to give it some extra diamension.

There is another fantastic prize on offer for the lucky winner drawn by random org, so why not join us for the new challenge at Truly Scrumptious this week.

Your Next Stamp Challenge 16 ......

Today is the new challenge at Your Next Stamp, this week it is starlet Maureen's challenge and she would like you to "cut it out and pop it up".  There are some beautiful cards from the Starlets over at  Your Next Stamp challenge blog, so why not pop over and take a look!!

I have coloured Ellie with Presents, stamping extra presents  and cutting them out and layering them with foam pads. I have also used foam pads to pop the scallop circles up too. I did add some sparkle to my card, but unfortunately the camera didn't pick it up?!  The sentiment is from the Circle of friends stamp set available from Stampin' Up!.

I hope you can join us at Your Next Stamp challenge blog.

Cheeky Monkey's .......

I have decided to try and get a few children's cards made up in advance, as I never seem to have anything ready when I want a card in a hurry!! Philip has so many party invites, my weekends are taken up going to the parties. This weekend Philip is going to a soft play party for twins, so look out for their cards later in the week!!

I have stamped the monkey from the  Fox and Friends stamp set, I just love this set, I have found its perfect for children's and baby cards.  The last box of cards I took for the neo-natal unit had some of these cute animals on too!!!  I have used the two step bird punch to make the branches for the monkey's to hang from, the sentiment is from Whimsical Words, sadly no longer available, stamped  in Chocolate Chip ink.

Must dash, I have still got to finish my cards for tomorrow!!!

Sweet Pea Felt Shopper .......

I am not usually a fan of sewing, even having to sew a button back on drives me mad, although I did many fine and complex cross stitch and hardanger desgins before leaving it all neglected in a box in the loft!!   Last night I thought I would finally do something with this cotton shopping bag I bought a while ago, using some of this gorgeous Sweet Pea stitched felt from Stmpin' Up!

I  stitched a length of rose red stitched grosgrain ribbon across the front of the bag, then I put the felt on the top of it, sewing everything in place once I was happy with the design. I decided I would use one of the stamps from the Sweet Pea stamp set to stamp below the ribbon using old olive and rose red ink, I am quite pleased with the result and it only took around half an hour to put together!!

I will definately be ordering some more of this stitched felt, it is so pretty and has so many uses too, exceptional value at £6.50 for approx 52 pecies avaialable from the new mini catalogue until 30th September.

Don't forget about my paper and ribbon share, it has been very popular. If you would like to place an order to get some of the new colours now for just £9.95 including posting and packing, this is a one off payment and a one off commitment please e-mail me asap.

Party On .......

Today it's Philip's turn to party!!!  I have made another special Birthday card for his friend, using the same stamp sets as before, they are really easy to make, and the children at nursery love to receive a special card with their name on.

I have used the schoolbook serif alphabet with the "stamp-ma-jig" available from Stampin' Up!, this is an essential part of my card making now as you can line your stamps up perfectly every time!!  I have stamped the younger boy from the All in the Family set, with the football from the accessory set. I have coloured the image with stampin' write markers and blender pens.

I think after today I will be all partied out!! Just as well there is a bank holiday tomorrow!!!  Hopefully the weather will be kind as we are planning a trip to Harewood House, they have Peppa Pig, Noddy and Fireman Sam (children's tv characters for those without little ones) so this should appeal to Philip!!  Hope you enjoy the weekend and some good weather too!!!
