Simply Stampin' Challenge week 5

Saturday again already???

Its been a strange week, with so many bank holidays and school back but only for a few fun days to celebrate the Royal Wedding with the children it would seem.  Philip took part in a Prince and Princesses' day, Key stage 1 held their own Wedding celebration at the local chuch, then returned to school for a celebration lunch including a wedding ckae!!  Then everyone had a "red, white & blue" day with party food and games on Thursday!!

So on to this weeks challenge at Simply Stampin' - we have a colour challenge this week. I have to admit I didn't think they were colours that would work together for me but I'm pleased with the way it turned out and I have made another card using these colours I will share later in the week.

The Owl punch came to my rescue again and I made a really simple card with the perfect polka dots embossing folder, the sentiment is from the Party This Way stamp set and I layered it using the word window and decorative label punches, of course I added a couple of gems for that little bit of sparkle!!

We would love to see your creations using this colour challenge this week, there are some beautiful cards from the other mamebers of the design team again this week, you can see them here.

Baby Blossoms Wedding Card

I have been busy catching up with the many cards I have been commisioned to make recently, they include Weddings and Civil Partnerships, Birth Announcements and Holy Communion cards. This is the card I made for a couple getting married this weekend for my friend.

I used the delicate Baby Blossom stamp set to create the backgtound, then I used the stamp-ma-jig to create the small spray that I have cut out for the oval.  I stamped the frame and cut it out, then I used one of the stamps from the After Thoughts level 1 hostess exclusive stamp set and used the extra Large Oval Punch along with the Scalloped Oval Punch cut in half to layer it up.  The border is made using the Eyelet Border Punch.

I was asked to make the card co-ordinate with a pink & green colour theme, so I have used Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirrouette, Very Vanilla and Certainly Celery.  I stamped a couple of Tiny tags and fixed them to the satin bow.

I have had a lovely day just making layouts for my scrap book today, I will get the pictures up-loaded in the next day or two to share with you.  My next Scrap book Club is on Friday 20th May 7.30-9.30, so if you fancy coming along contact me so I can prepare your kit and order your choice of album - I will post my layout using this months kit soon, so look out for it!!

Simply Stampin' Challenge week 4

What a beautiful week it has been for the school holidays!!! Better weather than we usually have in July!!  I'm afraid my blog has suffered as a result, its been lovely spending time outside - we took a picnic to the park on Wednesday in April????

There have been some fabulous Easter projects this week at Simply Stampin' Challenge,  so thank you to everyone who joined us again this week.  Our new challenge is a sketch this week, you can use the sketch in any way you wish as long as we can still see the original sketch.

I have used the Stampin' Up! Colour Coach for my inspiration for this card, it is certainly a combination I wouldn't have chosen but I  do like it.  The colours are River Rock, Melon Mambo and Elegant Eggplant.

I have used the Big Shot with the gorgeous Square Lattice embossing forlder to add some texture to the Melon Mambo layer, then I decided to use a stamp set I haven't used for a while - Vintage Vogue, this is a lovely set perfect for pretty summery cards!   The flowers have been stamped using the "rock and roll" technique and cut out, with a basic rhinestone for a little bling!!  I have stamped my greeting in River Rock ink, it is from the Just Believe stamp set.

If you would like to see the beautiful projects the other Design team members have created this week

Don't for get this is the final week to enter our challenge to be in with a chance of winning some fabulous Stampin' Up! products, one lucky winner will be chosen at random at the end of this weeks challenge. There will aslo be a Top 3 choosen and a banner to display on your blog.

Simply Stampin' Challenge week 3

Thank you to everyone who joined us for last weeks colour challenge at Simply Stampin' challenge, the standard of entries was very high and I enjoyed looking at the projects.

This week our new challenge at Simply Stampin' is Easter, so this one should be a little easier as we start to get those last minute cards and gifts made.

I have gone for some bright and zingy colours Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango.  Of course I had to use A Good Egg stamp set too!!

I have stamped and coloured the chicks with the blender pens, then layered them up with the square punches, the background of the card was stamped with the dots from the set in Tangerine Tango ink. A length of Daffodil Delight satin ribbon and a punched greeting made this a fast card to make.  I used some Brights designer paper to make my sour cream holder, filled with mini eggs and then I used the crimper tool to seal the ends.

This basket is really easy to make and will hold 3 cream eggs, I also stamped the tissue paper to match. I will add the eggs just before I give it away as I'm sure those little fingers will be looking for chocolate next week!!

I do hope you can join us at Simply Stampin' this week - there is a top three blinkie to be won and the chance to win some fabulous Stampin' Up! goodies at the end of the month!!  You only need to use one Stampin' Up! product and you can make anything you choose - cards, 3D items, scrapbook pages.  There are some beautiful projects from the design team again this week, you can see them here.

Party Owls

I did say how much I loved my new Stampin' Up! Owl punch, so here is another really quick card I made last night using it!!

I used Pacific Point for my card base, then added one of the fabulous Celebration accent stickers. I used the colour spritzer tool to add a messy finish to the background.  I  punched 3 Owls and used more scraps of Celebration papers, I added some crystal effects to give them glossy eyes.  The party hats are just a single point from the strar punch and I stamped and cut out some balloons from the Party this Way stamp set.

I have cancelled this weeks class on Friday night as I have not been well this week and have very little voice left!!

There is still time for you to join in with our colour challenge this week at
Simply Stampin' Challenge (click) there are some wonderful cards from the very talented design team again this week, you can see my card here.

A Mini Thank You

Earlier this month I held a Mini Catalogue launch party to share the wonderful new products now available from Stampin' Up!.  As a little "Thank You" for my customers placing an order I made some small thank you cards and decorated chocolate orange discs using the fabulous new Owl punch.

I love these gorgeous bright and cheerful Sunny Garden papers for my cards with the sentiment from the Oval All stamp set, using the scalloped oval and large oval punch to layer them up.

The Owl punch is sooo cute and very much "on trend" right now as I have seen so many shops selling owl themed products.  I used a scalloped circle for my base for the chocolates, then punched the owls and used Tombow glue to stick them together.  This punch is a perfect way to use some of my scraps!!

If you would like to order an Owl punch or anything else from the new Mini Catalogue please contact me - need a copy of the mini catalogue to browse then drop me an email and I will post a copy to you.

Hopefully I will have some more Owl projects to share with you soon!!

Julie's Jem's Blog Hop

Today I am taking part in another blog hop with other members of Julie's Jems team.  Sarah-Jane organised a mini catalogue swap so we could share our stash of new products with each other.

Hopefully you have hopped over from Evelyn's blog, if not you can go back to the start of the hop at Sarah-Janes blog here.

I did choose a different set  for my swap design but it wasn't working so I decided to change and go with the gorgeous Build A Blossom stamp set with the matching punch.

I chose a really bright and zingy colour combo for my card.

I stamped the petals with the largest stamp using Rose Red ink over Melon Mambo card, the leaves are  Wild Wasabi card and ink.  I used Pretty in Pink to make my card base, adding a length of Pumpkin Pie ribbon and some pearls. The centre of the flower is Pumkin Pie stamped over with Rose Red ink, adding some Dazzaling Diamonds for a little sparkle.

I did recieve some beautiful swaps in return from the other Jem's, so now my wish list has grown again!!

Its now time to hop on over to Kate's blog to continue the hop.

Simply Stampin' Challenge week 2

This week has flown by and we have had some fabulous entries for the very first challenge at Simply Stampin' Challenge blog, thank you to everyone who has joined us this week!!

Our second challenge this week and we have a lovely colour combo challenge for you.

Very Vanilla, Wild Wasabi, Pink Pirouette, Bravo Burgundy

I really enjoyed using this colour combo, the colours work so well together.

I made a small 10x10 cm card with Bravo Burgandy, then added a panel of Pink Pirouette edge with the eyelet border punch and put this piece through the Big Shot with the lovely new polka dot embossing folder. I stamped the frame from the beautiful new Baby Blossoms stamp set with Bravo Burgandy ink on to Very Vanilla card,  then I used the stamp-ma-jig to line up the flowers, a bit fiddly but the results are well worth the effort - I love this set!!!  I added a tiny pearl to the centre of the flower and a length of Very Vanilla taffetta ribbon.

We would love to see what you create this week using the colour combo, there are so many gorgeous cards from the other design team members, you can see them here.

A Good Egg

I thought I would share some of the Easter projects I have made this week using A Good Egg stamp set.  I made three of each colour of this design for my sister.

I have stamped the chick on to So Saffron card and then again on to a scrap of gorgeous Sweet & Sour DSP, I then cut them both out without the legs, I then stamped the chick on to Very Vanilla card and layered my cut pieces.  The card above is Rose Red with some more of the lovely Sweet & Sour DSP, I used the scallop boarder trim punch for the edges, making a flat bow with some gorgeous satin ribbon. I stampped a sentiment below the chick and added one of the flower brads with a rhinestone for a little sparkle.

This card is made the same as the one above, the colour is Pumpkin Pie, with a similar paper from the Sweet & Sour DSP.  My ssister was really pleased with them, I just need to get a few more made for my self.

I have booked my next Papercraft Extravaganza!!

Bright and Bold

I thought I would share a couple of really bright cards I have made using the new sizzix dasies die.  These flowers are so easy to make and you can cut multiple layers so great if your making a few quick cards!!

This card uses some of the bright Sweet and Sour papers, I love these papers - some sheets have a glossy sheen and some flocked, I have die cut a daisy with Pumpkin Pie card adding a button from the Brights Collection for the centre, a quick punched boarder with the scalloped edge punch and a strip of Melon Mambo card. So quick and easy!!

This card is very similar using the Newsprint papers - I have finally cut in to them!  The flower is die cut in Melon Mambo with a button from the neutrals collection and a length of linen thread.  I have made a ribbon band for the centre of the card using Very Vanilla satin and the narrow Basic Black taffetta.

I chose not to put a sentiment on the cards until I need to sent them to someone.  It is a beautiful day here today, sunny and it feels lovely and warm 20'C!!!  I do hope this weather is here to stay, it makes you feel so much better!!

Strength and Hope

Another late night post!!!  As promised this is the make and take from my open house event last Friday celebrating the launch of the mini catalogue.

I decided to use the Strength and Hope stamp set for my make and take as there is a donation of £1.00 to breast cancer research from every set sold, so while creating beautiful cards we are also helping a very worth while cause.

The colours are Regal Rose, River Rock and Pretty in Pink, which was also embossed with the new sizzix exclusive square lattice folder.  I used the curly label punch to make the window, stamping the butterfly in River Rock, then stamping "Hope" in Chocolate Chip through the window over the first image.  A length of Pretty in Pink taffetta ribbon was tied round the edge of the frame.

This is a really quick and somple card to make and I took my inspiration from one of the samples in the mini catalogue.  If you would like a copy of the new mini catalogue or to palce an order please contact me.

I would like to thank everyone who came along on the night and "ooh'd" and "ahh'd" at my samples there are some fabulous new products!!  I'm keeping my fingers crossed we don't have to wait too long to get our inky fingers on those new products!!!

Happy Mothers Day

I know I'm a little late in posting my card toady  but its just been one of those days with lots of things to do as usual.  It was a little bit of a last minute card too as I only finished it last night!!  This card also proved difficult to get a straight photo of so I apologise for some of the odd angles.

I have made a double gate fold card for my Mum, using the new exclusive to Stampin' Up! sizzix Top Note Die for the centre piece with some delicate Embosslit Butterflies. I  added some of the gorgeous new seam binding and ruffled it along the side of the card adding the largest of the Embosslit Butterflies.

I cut and layered the frame from the Baby Blossom stamp set and used the large oval punch along with a punched scalloped oval cut in half to layer up the centre . I stamped the leaves and small blossoms directly on to the oval and stamped and cut out the large roses so I could layer them up for some interest.

I decorated the inside of my card with more of the Springtime Vintage papers, the sentiment is from the Occasional Greetings stamp set, with another of the cut out roses.
The colours are Rose red, Pear Pizzaz, regal Rose and Pretty in Pink.

Hope you had a lovely day and got some well deserved treats - I got a lovely new Hummingbird Bakery Cake book and planned to use fresh rhubarb from the garden to make one of their cakes but I'm not feeling very well today as I'm full of cold so maybe tomorrow!! Still going to finish the ironing before I'm off for an early night.

I will share my card from my Mini Catalogue launch on Friday night tomorrow.

In Love With Stampin' Blog Hop

Welcome to the In Love With Stampin' mini catalogue blog hop, a large group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators are taking part in today's hop to show case the new products in the mini catalogue and share some inspiration.

There are 4 groups in the mini catalogue blog hop - this is group 2.

I have decided I would like to share my cross over pocket card using the beautiful  new Springtime Vintage papers and the Baby Blossoms stamp set.

I have made the base of my card and the criss cross pocket using Rose Red card, covering the front with the Springtime Vintage papers, I have wrapped the pocket with some In Colours Pear Pizzaz ribbon and made a flat bow.  The card has a layer of Very Vanilla card and I have rounded the corners of the layers to make it easier to take in and out of the pocket.  I stamped  a variety of the leaves in an oval, then I used the stamp-ma-jig to line up the flowers, adding a little dazzling diamonds for a bit of sparle.  The greeting is from the Sincere Salutaions stamp set.

If you would like to continue with the hop the next stop is Anthea's blog.

Group 1 starts here.

Group 3 starts here.

Group 4 starts here.

Its Mini Catalogue time!!!!!

Wowee, I'm so excited to finally be able to share with you the fabulous new mini catalogue from Stampin' Up!  It has been so exciting having the new products to "play" with a whole month before the catalogue is launched, one of  the many perks you get as a demonstrator.

There are so many new products again this year but I think the most exciting one of all is the Sizzix "Big Shot" along with exclusive Stampin' Up! dies and embossing folders!!!

This is a small "pillow" box I have made using one of the new dies - they are so quick and easy to make I have stamped on to Crumb Cake card with the matching ink then I stamped a Rose Red butterfly and cut it out adding a few pearls for the body, a length of linen thread wrapped around the box.

This is the matching card, using some Crumb Cake paper and Rose red card torn along the edge. I used the Strength and Hope stamp set, this is being sold to raise funds for breast cancer research - Stampin' Up! will dontate £1.00 from every set sold to help fund reseach and treatment. I think this is one of my favourite new stamp sets - but then I think you will read that again over the next few days.  There  are some beautiful colours in the new seam binding ribbons, it is so fine almost like silk making it perfect to gather up.

If you would like a copy of the new mini catalogue or if you would like to place an order for any of the new products please contact me and I will arrange that for you.

Tonight I am holding my Mini Madness open house event to celebrate the launch of the mini catalogue.

I will be back tomorrow with my first design team card for the new Simply Stampin' Challenge and also another creation for a blog hop I am involved in at In Love With Stampin, so I do hope you can join in with them and see some of the fabulous projects created using the new products.
