Snowmen

Inspired by the weather and the need to get my Christmas cards started I have made some snowmen with a variety of fabulous Stampin' Up! punches.

I have used the new extra large oval, 1 3/8"  and 1/8" circle, bauble, tab, word window, star, 2 step bird, small heart  punches.  I have added some Crystal Effects to the hat band & Dazzaling Daimonds to the heart & the snowman's body.  I have used my stampin' pastels to add a little colour to his cheeks and give some definition to his body.

For the first card I have used some of the fabulous Celebration  12x12 papers as I thought this design reminded me of a string of Christmas lights!!  I have added some of the crisp white organza ribbon, the sentiment is from the Delightful Decorations stamp set and layered up with circle punches.

I loved this red paper with hearts all over it from the Play Dates 12x12 papers, I have used the same ribbon & sentiment as before, but I have used some of the gorgeous Frost Whits shimmer Paint to stamp snowflakes from the Serene Snowflakes stamp set.

I have put this picture under my light to try and show just how shimmery they are in real life!!  The sparkle on the smnowman is the Dazzling Diamonds I have added around his body.

This is Lucy's snowman she made yesterday, he is still out there but the snow is much more compact today.  The school is open again but I'm not looking forward to going back out on the roads to pick them up as I have just got home from taking Darran to collect his car and had a nightmare drive!!  The roads have turned into tracks of  shinny black ice, the temperature dropped 4C in minutes and another car didn't manage to stop at the roundabout & went into the back of us!!!  Thankfully my car looks OK, but I will have to get it checked at the garage later - I need my car to get Philip around it was difficult enough at the start of this year - please melt away soon!!!!  If you have to go out on the roads take care!!

Winter Wonderland

I thought I would share some of the beautiful snowy photos I have taken this morning,  I can't believe how much snow we have here - I dont ever remember it as deep as this!!  The school is closed today and as always the roads out were grid locked so its an extra day home today!!  I am planning to do some baking later this morning, as Lucy likes to help.

These are the trees just at the back of our garden, one solitry bird sitting at the top of the branches.

The snow on the top of the fence post -  8.5" deep!!

This is the depth of the snow on the rabbits cage?? I will be poping back out with a ruler!!!  I will take them some extra treats as well.
The snow on the top of the cage is 7" deep!!!

Icicles on the conservatory.

This is my washing line!!!

It is snowing again now!! We have had quite a lot of snow and lightening already this morning!!  Better get on and make the most of an extra day at home - I think we will have to go out and build a snowman, and then take Philip for a ride on the sledge!!  Hot chocolate all round!!

Cards for Men

I always struggle to make suitable cards for men, so when I saw the new 12x12 paper stacks in the Stampin' Up! catalogue I knew the neutrals would be perfect for so many occasions.  The papers are double sided and there are 2 sheets of each colour and pattern for £15.95 making them teriffic value!!

I have used Basic grey for my card base and some of the lovely striped paper, I have added a line of faux stitiching at one side.  I have put some of the jumbo pewter eyelets along the edge of the card & I added a punched star adding faux stitching and sponging ink around the edges.  The sentiment has been stamped directly on to the paper.

For this card I have used more of the Basic Grey paper with a length of Basic Black taffetta ribbon.  The sentiment is from the On a Pedestal stamp set, I have used the new fancy label punch, edging it with a Basic Grey Stampin' Write marker pen. Really quick and simple to make!!

Winter has arrived here again!!!!  We have had a lot of snow since last Thursday and it looks like it will be here to stay as it is so cold and the snow showers keep on coming down!!  This morning around 10 am the car still showed  -7C, it has not been above freezing all day!! So I am planning on staying home and wrapping some Christmas presents and finally catching up with some of my favourite blogs this week.  I have been busy making various things for some Christmas fairs and I have had Philip home for almost 10 days as he has been unwell, so that has taken up most of my time.

Birthday Wishes

This is the card I made for a friend celebrating a very special birthday a couple of weeks ago!!

I love the bright and cheerful colours of the fabulous new Sunny garden papers.  I have teamed them with some Daffoldil delight satin ribbon and one of the new "In Colours" Poppy Parade.  I stamped several flowers from the Vintage Vogue stamp set using the rock & roll technique, the leaves from the 2 step bird punch. I have cut out the flowers, layering them up with diamensionals and a sprinkling of dazzling daimonds.  The sentiment is from the new Perfect Punches stamp set, if you look at the bottom of the ribbon you can see the beautiful new boarder punch.

The Missing Birthday card

I'm not sure what happened to the photo of Lucy's birthday card today, it has disappeared from my computer as well as the post I had scheduled earlier today.  I have taken another photo but in night light the colours are not so good.

Its been quite a busy day with one thing or another today - I am grateful that my followers let me know about my missing picture, thank you!!

I think Lucy had a nice day despite having to go to the orthodontist to have a brace fitted this morning,  she has been really brave and seems to be coping well.

Birthday Girl

Today is Lucy's 9th birthday!!! I just can't believe how quickly she is growing up, time really does fly!!  This is the card I made for her using the new Party This way stamp set that we recieved in our convention bags!!!  This is a nice and simple card to make but it looks very elagant - perfect for a "little lady"!!

Not sure what has happened to my photo today - it seems to have disappeared from my computer folders as well???  I will try and get another photo later tonight and up load it again.

I have used some Pretty in Pink polka dot paper from the Subtles paper stack (40 double sided sheets for £15.95) with Melon Mambo ink, the letters are from th Just Perfect alphabet set and the 9 is from the Schoolbook Serif Numbers stamp set.  I have cut the scallops off the bunting and threaded them onto silver cord with some basic rhinestones for that extra sparkle!!  I have added a narrow punched boarder with the new boarder punch and some of the lovely new Pretty in Pink ribbon.

Yesterday Lucy had her Stampin' Up! birthday party, everyone was really well behaved and they all enjoyed their projects!!  All of the girls went home with a Hello Again stamp set in their party bag so they can continue to be creative!!  They shared a Hello Kitty Birthday cake and I made some fancy cupcakes too!!

I really must dash this morning as I have Philip still at home for an appointment, then I will be dropping him off at school and picking Lucy up for another appointment!!  I seem to be rushing from one appiontmet to another at the moment?? Look out for my updates this week to enable your loved ones to buy you the Christmas gifts you really want.

Convention Candy

One of the best things about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is spending time with other demonstrators and sharing ideas.  I took part in an organised card candy swap at convention - I made up 10 sets of my card candy and recieved 9 new sets back - they are all so beautiful!!

This is the set I created using the Serene Snowflakes stamp set all embossed with silver embossing powder, the colours are Whisper White, Bashful Blue and Sahra Sand.  I have used some of the beautiful new basic pearls and rhinestones - those rhinestones sparkle more than any other gems I have ever used!!  They are excellent value at just £4.50 for 150 assorted pearls/gems!!

These are just a few of the card candy swaps I got in return - it is lovely to have new ideas and they are a perfect way to see some of the beautiful stamp sets I don't yet have.  The only problem I have now is my wish list doesn't get any smaller????

If you would like to join in the fun and share some of the generous swaps at convention next year then why not contact me for an informal no obligation chat and find out how you too could be "Sharing What You Love" in Disneyland Paris!!!!  You don't have to spend your time arranging workshops and classes - you can simply join to get a discount on some of the best products out there - so what are you waiting for contact me today!!!

Serene Snowflakes Class

Last night was my first Christmas class, we used Serene Snowflakes with vellum cardstock and some of the gorgeous new basic pearls.  This is the class all set up with the kits prepared just before my 5 lovley ladies arrived. I put out my dispaly boards filled with lots of inspiration for Christmas, including some of the swaps I made at convention.

This is what we made - a vellum tea light holder and two matching cards. We used the beautiful new Marina Mist ink and card with the delicate Serene Snowflakes stamp set, with a couple of tags from the Tiny Tags stamp set.

Everyone was delighted with their tea light holder they are very simple to make and look very effective with a little battery operated tea light inside.

I need to finish putting my stamps away from last night as I am holding another Christmas class on Wednesday using Delightful Decorations with the fabulous Bauble punch - currently on offer £37.45 including a FREE roll of ribbon of your choice valued up to £11.45.  If you would like to take advantage of the Bundle Up for Christmas offer then you can e-mail me to place your order - I can even take payment with credit cards making it easier for you!!

More from Convention

I have been so busy since I got back from convention as I have my first Christmas class tonight and on Sunday it is Lucy's 9th birthday party - of course it is a Stampin'Up! party!!!  All of the girls will take home their little projects and their very own set of stamps too!!

This was my first convention and I had an amazing time!! This is the bag we got at convention, inside were our FREE stamp sets!!! The bag is really bright and cheerful with plenty of room inside, so I think I will be using it for the workshops I have booked.  I have noticed lucy has get her eye on this bag at the moment, so I will have to watch out!

Throughout the weekend there were some prize patrols and I was lucky enough to win these goodies!!!!!  I will be re-creating some of the fabulous projects demonstrated with them soon, the ribbon is so pretty and a handmade tag with the new basic pearls on!

This year there was a Momento Mall where you could buy Stampin' Up! goodies that are only available to those attending convention!!! This is some of my new stash, unfortunately the beautiful Greenhouse Gala bag had sold out, so I am now patiently waiting for mine to arrive in a few weeks time!!

Must dash and finish setting up for tonight, I will share some of the photos of the projects we are making tonight sometime over the weekend!!

Convention 2010

I have just had the most amazing weekend at the 2010 European Stampin' Up! convention, it was held at the beautiful Addington Palace.

It was wonderful to spend the weekend with my fellow demonstrators sharing our enthusiasm for all things Stampin' Up.  We have had so much fun stamping, swapping cards and of course celebrating the achievements of so many successful demonstrators at the gala evening.

I will post some more pictures of the amazing swaps I have recieved as soon as I have got my camera downloaded - I need to catch up on so many things!!

Although I have just returned home, I have to say I can't wait to do it all over again next year in

Disneyland Paris!!!

You can join in the fun too!!!  If you would like to find out more about joining my team and sharing this magical weekend  e-mail me for more information.
