Baby Prints Stamp Set

I have finally found the time to ink up this beautiful baby stamp set from the Summer mini catalogue Baby Prints.  The detail of the stamps is amazing and so realistic too, along with setiments to match.

I used Blushing Bride for the baby girl cards with some of the beautiful pleated ribbon and tiny flower buttons.

For the baby boy cards I used Baja Breeze and pleated ribbon and buttons again.
The sentiment was heat embossed (again!!) with white embossing powder.

I haven't made any baby cards for a while and this is a set I know I will use a lot, if I manage to squeeze in a bit of scrapbooking time this week I plan to use the Baby Prints stamp set for a layout of Philip.

Special Birthday Wishes

On Friday my sister celebrates her 40th Birthday - this is a remarkable  achievement for someone who on more than one occasion has been so very ill she was not expected to survive the next few hours!!  The love and care she has been given by my Mum is the key to her survival and we are planning a party with family and friends on Friday - the same day as the Olympics open in London!!  I guess there are not many people  (my Auntie - same day) who have had a "countdown" to their birthday!!

So on to my card - it has to be a "special one", so I decided to have a go at a stair stepper card - they are so easy and look very effective, I plan to make more cards like this one!!

I have used Poppy Parade, Whisper White & Not Quite Navy for my theme and spent many hours making paper roses for the bunting, these are left over so I have used them for the card.

Arty angle, so you can see the depth of the card, I will make a quick box tonight for the card, so the flowers are not crushed.

A close up of the flowers, You can just see the glitter inside the Night of Navy flower, the patterned paper is from the gorgeous Everyday Enchantment pack - available again during July. The sentiment is from the Perfect Punches stamp set.

I made a box with the exclusive Stampin' Up! Milk Carton die, adding some pearls and crochet trim with another paper flower.  I bought a charm for her bracelet and it will fit nicely in here.

I know I'm going to be busy decorating the garden, so I  am posting my card today - I can hope the sun will come back out!! I have a couple of Birthday banners I have made as well - hopefully I can take some decent pictures once they are hung up??

Bordering on Romance Workshop

Last weekend I had a workshop with a lovely group of ladies, these are the cards we made using the Bordering on Romance stamp set.

The images were all stamped on to water colour paper and coloured with Stampin' Write markers and a blender pen using the 2012-2013 In Colours.

This is the first card we made with a lovely scalloped edge cut with the new Edgelits dies.

There was a little more work involved in making this card as we also stamped the background and added an embossed layer cut with the Labels Collection Framelits dies.

The final card has an embossed edge to match the cut edge of the Framelits dies.

Everyone had a lovely evening colouring their pretty flowers, the hostess has now received her orders including £50 worth of FREE products and a Big Shot for half catalogue price!!!!
If you would like to find out more about hosting a Stampin' Up! workshop with your friends and receiving free products, contact me for more details.

Scrapbooking Class

Last night I held my scrapbooking class, its the first one in quite a while, but we hope to make it a regular event now I have a lovely new venue with plenty of space to spread everything out.

These are my layouts for inspiration, everyone got a kit with some Everyday Enchantment papers (only available during July).

I chose some pictures of Lucy attempting to climb a tree for my layout.

The leaves are from the French Foliage stamp set, I stamped a few extra and cut them out & layered them up. I tied some fine organza ribbon in Calypso Coral around them - available FREE when you place an order of £45 or more during July.

I stamped and cut out my title with the Varsity stamp set, adding a few more leaves with organza ribbon for dimension.  I must remember to take my camera next time to take photo's of all of the layouts, as everyone is different!!

It was a lovely relaxed evening, if you fancy joining us for the next class contact me for more details, as places are limited.

Summer Holidays are here!!

Great start to the summer holidays - everyone up as early as usual!!  I was hoping for a bit of a lie in???  So I thought I would share a couple of cards I made using the Mixed Bunch stamp set and matching Blossom punch.

I love the bright summery colours of this card, it is similar to one I saw on Pinterest. I used Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, and Pear Pizzaz, the layers have been stamped with Whisper White craft ink. I inked up the large flower with Daffodil Delight ink then rolled the edge of the stamp in Cherry Cobbler ink to give a two tone effect then the flowers were punched out with the matching Blossom punch. I wrapped some Lucky Limeade Bakers Twine around the Pear Pizzaz card and tied it together with So Saffron taffeta ribbon.

For this card I used my heat gun and black embossing powder, something I haven't done for soooooo long!!!  I love the embossing powders from Stampin' Up! they are great for detail stamps, look out for more embossing soon.
I used Basic Black and Melon Mambo card, layered with First Edition newsprint DSP, the smaller flowers were punched with the Boho Blossoms punch and have a gem in the centre for a little bling.

Well I better go and get on - today's plan is to get rid of some more "clutter" and that includes old toys & books so I think Lucy & Philip better watch out!!  The sun is out, so fingers crossed the washing can go outside to dry today.

Jubilee Scrapbooking

Just a quick post this morning to share a Jubilee themed scrapbook layout I made a couple of weeks ago.
This is a layout "cased" from my lovely Stampin' UP! mum Jules - who had shared this with her last scrap booking class.

Lucy had got a gorgeous dress and I tried to get a few nice photo's of her with my new camera, as she is not usually happy about having her photo taken I was quite pleased with these photos. We had decorations and a Jubilee themed tea.

I loved Julie's hand cut bunting and stamped background with lots of "diamonds" too!!

I used the exclusive Simple Letters alphabet dies for my title, the colours are Not Quite Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White, the crown is from the Artistic Etchings stamp set.

I will be holding my first scrap book class on Friday - if you would like to join this group there are still a few places available, I plan to run a monthly class with a different theme and a kit included to complete a double layout. Contact me if you would like to join our friendly group.

A Special Birthday Card

Last week it was my lovely Stampin' Up! "mum's" birthday, so a special card was needed!!  I know Jules had a lovely day, and celebrated with some of the local girls form "Julies Jem's" Stampin' Up! team.

I used the Bordering on Romance stamp set, stamping on to water colour paper and coloured with Stampin' Up! marker pens & a "blender" pen. The colours are Melon Mambo, Baja Breeze and Lucky Limeade, I used the framelits dies to layer up the image, running the larger one through the polka dots embossing folder. I added some gorgeous polka dot ribbon and some pearls for the flower centres. I gave the card a spritz with some Champagne shimmer paint to add a bit of sparkle but it hasn't shown up in the photo.

Summer Workshop

I have only just realised this post hadn't published I guess Blogger has been up to no good again?

Yesterday afternoon I had a lovely group of ladies attend my workshop and I think given the stormy weather it was the best place to be!!

Everyone got their own Blossom punch to take home after the workshop along with a kit containing everything needed for the projects.

I usually make a few cards to share at my workshop for inspiration, as I have a a group of  very creative ladies who will share some fabulous designs of their own during the workshop.

I chose the exclusive Petal Cone die for my 3D projects, using it in different ways so the ladies could see what a great addition to their craft room this would be.

I demonstrated the ruffled flowers made with the Blossom punch and the Petal Cone die was altered to make a vase.

A petal cone box to hang, with another blossom flower.

Petal cone die altered to make a "take out" style box.

The colours for the workshop were Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, Lucky Limeade and Whisper White - many of the ladies commented on the colours and how much they liked them. I used the matching Bright Blossoms stamp set with the punch (now on many "wish lists"!) along with the lovely Curly Cute stamp set.

If you are local to me and would like to join one of my workshops please contact me to book your place. I will be adding dates for my Autumn / Winter workshops later this week and places do fill up quickly.
