I thought I would post a picture of the snowy trees at the back of our garden, they do look lovely but getting to school was hard work today!!  I have had to put Philip into his 3 wheel pushchair and it just about managed to get through the snow but it was very slippy as there is ice under the fresh snow, if we get much more I think we will have to stay home.  I dont like driving in the snow, but as my car has been in the garage for 2 weeks, I just need it back to get around!!

We dont seem to have a problem with salt here, so I guess that is lucky, we have had days when no roads have been gritted, but again today they have gritted my road as both ways in and out are a long hill, they had filled the salt bin on the corner too, so I went out to get a little just to keep things clear for carrying Philip in and out, last week there wasn't a grain left but it was interesting to see how many had lovely clean drives while the road is packed with ice!!!  If that wasn't enough I saw a man pull up in his car in the lane at the school and get out a "large" bag and spade and fill his bag to take home!!  There are 2 schools and nursing home using the lane!!

Hope the snow is not too bad where you are, take care,

Indian Summer .....

What a beautiful day, just like an Indian summer!! The children are back at school and the sun decides to shine!! We always take a picture on the first day of term, surprisingly Lucy still looked smart when I picked her up and she hasn't scuffed her shoes yet??!

Today's card is for two challenges,

Truly Scrumptious challenge 15 a sketch and the theme of "Indian Summer", sponsored this week by Home Impressions with a cute set of "Jack & Jill" stamps.

Stampin for the Weekend challenge 14, colours "pink, teal & orange" sponsored this week by The Craft Barn £15 voucher.

I have used my new Sugar Nellie Manga girl stamp, coloured with promarkers, the patterned paper is from a magazine freebie but the colours and pattern work well for the Indian Summer theme, DCWV card, retro flower punches, stickles stardust glitter glue, victorian & swiss dots embossing folders, card candy. I really like the way this card has turned out with these colours its an unusual combination for me.

I think it will be a quiet week for my blog this week as Philip starts nursery tomorrow, he should have gone today but no one told us?? So I will be spending my mornings helping the support person to get to know Philip and how to help him get around and communicate, but well worth it as I will have *5* mornings for me!! I have got to make some more cards for the neo-natal unit as they have asked for more, its just 7 weeks since I took around 50-60 cards, I don't like it when they are busy like this as I know only too well that its not all happy endings.

Thanks for stopping by,

Double Challenge .....

There is a great new sketch this week at Just Magnolia week 19 by super talented Rach, which I have combined with Stampin' for the Weekend challenge 12 colours "pink and grey". I have moved the sentiment to the circle at the bottom and added a bow with a charm.

I have used Sweetheart Tilda coloured with shimmer paints, watercolour pencils and promarkers, papers are BG Perhaps which were just perfect for this challenge, DCWV cardstock, nesties, swiss dots and snowflakes embossing folders, ribbon, charm, and embossed circle with greeting from craftwork cards.

It is another Christmas card, I keep sneaking them in, slowly my stash of Christmas cards is building up. I am quite pleased how well the colours have worked for a Christmas card, it gives a fresh modern look as I do tend to go for more traditional colours.

Thanks for stopping by,
